Our plates, sheets, and foils are all pieces of nitinol with varying thicknesses. These have a wide range of applications varying from actuation, corrosion resistance, and vibration dampening. Each Nitinol piece is 6’’ (150 mm) x 1’’ (25 mm). A quantity of one (1) is for a 1’’ (25 mm) length. Multiple units will be shipped as a continuous length unless specified in the comment box during check out. If you have other size requirements or simply contact us at nitinol@kelloggsresearchlabs.com or Request a Quote.
For a simple demonstration of the shape memory capabilities of this alloy, please view this short video. This 80℃ 0.5 mm plate easily returned to shape after it reached the proper temperature. If you need help selecting the proper transition temperature, please view the table below or contact us.

Transition Temperature(°C/°F) |
Effect |
SuperElastic | 0°C-10°C, SE | Austenitic and superelastic at room temperature, |
Air Temp | 20/70 | Generally superelastic at room temperature. |
Body Temp | 35/95 | Martensitic in a cool environment(freezer, ice water…) and change to set shape when held in hands. |
Standard Temp | 45/115 | Martensitic at room temperature and change to set shape when heat to 45°C and above. |
High Temp | 80/180 | Martensitic at elevated temperatures and change to set shape when heat to 80°C and above. |
Note: Heat can be generated electrically. |
