Are you building a robot or some other motion control device?  Nitinol can open up a world of opportunities for you.  Since nitinol actuators are flexible, they can fit into areas that no other actuator can occupy.  Combine this with the highest strength to weight ratio, and you end up with the ability to construct lower cost, lighter weight, higher performing products when you switch your actuation to nitinol.

The one thing that has previously prevented widespread use of nitinol in electronics is that it is extremely difficult to solder to nitinol.  We have solved this by providing copper plated components which can easily be soldered.  The adhesion of our copper plating is so good that, in stress testing, the solder is always the failure point, not the copper plating.

If you are ready to explore the exciting opportunities that nitinol has for your project, don’t hesitate to contact one of our applications engineers at 1-855-583-5353 or nitinol@KelloggsResearchLabs.com.
